Welcome to the McGill Ecotoxicology Lab website!

We study effects of environmental chemicals on the health of fish and birds.  Our research is multidisciplinary, integrating basic research in molecular biology with applied questions relating to environmental risk assessment.

In the laboratory...
we use molecular techniques to describe mechanisms of action of toxic substances.  Our focus is on genetic and epigenetic factors that modulate avian responses to chemicals.

In the field...

we apply what we have learned in the lab to assess the health of fish and birds living in the wild.  We use toxicogenomics to make predictions about health at the level of the individual, population, or species.
