Life finds a way...

Field work 101:
1. Place walleye eggs in scotty incubator (yellow box)
2. place scotty incubator in river (inside protective cage)
3. receive call from homeowner after big spring storm: "I found your cage...it isn't looking good"
4. retrieve smashed cage.  : (
5. find scotty incubator washed up on shore!  : )
6. find live larvae inside scotty incubator!!  : )  : )
